Mexico u23 having to overcome a tough opponent for a shot at Gold
Mexico’s 14 goals in four matches in the Olympics are not matched by any other team. El Tri have won three and lost one match as they have a chance to play for a medal if they overcome Brazil in the sem-finals. The 2012 Gold Medalists where they beat Brazil in the final, are on a streak of scoring in every match and are the only team who have scored six goals in one match.
That was in the quarter-final match against South Korea in which Mexico won 6-3. Coach Lozano’s team are on course for a second medal win in their history. The Mexicans were more critical in front of the goal against South Korea who had the same number of goal attempts. Coach Lozano has some defensive adjustments to make as they are the team that conceded the most goals between the other semi-finalists.

It wasn’t an easy game for Brazil in the quarter-final against Egypt. Despite having 69% of ball possession, Brazil had to defend well in the last quarter of an hour as Egypt pushed for an equalizer. It was a game of few chances with Brazil having just three shots at goal to Egypt’s two.
The Selacao have not conceded the first goal in any four of their matches in the Olympics. Hertha Berlin’s Matheus Cunha scored the only goal of the match which was Brazil’s sixth in the Olympics. Three players shared the six goals, Richarlison, Paulinho, and Cunha. In three of Brazil’s four matches, coach Jardine’s team opened the scoring and have won all.

Mexico u23 vs Brazil u23 Prediction
Mexico will be hoping to repeat the feat of 2012 and beat Brazil. El Tri had some very impressive performances in Tokyo and they have the ability to cause problems for Brazil.
If coach Lozano can close his defense which was exposed seven times in the Olympics so far, he can rely on the counter-attack and may have dangerous chances.
Brazil weren’t very impressive in their four matches. Their match-winner against Egypt Cunha may miss the match as he limped off during that match. Richarlison will be the key man for coach Jardine in the attack and all hopes are on the Everton striker to find the back of the net.
