Erik ten Hag breaks silence on Cristiano Ronaldo contract termination

The Portugal superstar has parted ways with the Manchester giants following his recent explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

Erik ten Hag has claimed that he learned about his former forward’s intention to quit Old Trafford via the player’s shocking interview.

The 37-year-old’s contract was mutually terminated last month after he stated that he felt “betrayed” by the club and was disrespected by the Dutch manager.

Speaking to the media recently, ten Hag insisted that Ronaldo never told him he wanted to leave as he wanted the Portuguese veteran to remain with the squad.

“I wanted him Ronaldo to stay from the first moment until now. He wanted to leave – but before the interview, he never told me anything”.

“In summer Cristiano said: I will tell you in seven days if I want to stay. Then he came back and said: I want to stay”.
