Manchester United star to leave Old Trafford failing to sign new contract

Manchester United have excluded the Spanish goalkeeper from their list of retained players, indicating a less favorable situation compared to previous weeks. While there is still a chance for a contract extension, it would require compromises from both De Gea and the club.

According to Mirror, manager Erik ten Hag is actively searching for a successor for the 32-year-old, implying that De Gea is likely to leave Old Trafford. His current contract is set to expire on June 30th, and no negotiations regarding an extension have taken place thus far.

Sources within the club suggest that De Gea’s situation appears bleak as he has been reluctant to accept a reduction in his weekly salary of £375,000.

Having made 545 appearances for the Premier League giants, De Gea currently holds the fifth position on the club’s all-time most-capped player list.
