Agnieszka Radwanska vs Eugenie Bouchard. Anna Chakvetadze’s prediction
I know that bookies don’t give any chance for Eugenie Bouchard to win this game. Bouchard won against Aleksandra Krunić in the first round – 6:3, 6:4. I wouldn’t say it was easy for her. Bouchard has already been in the final in Hobart, where she lost to Alizé Cornet too easily. She played a difficult semifinal vs Dominika Cibulkova, though.
Radwanska easily defeated Christina McHale in the first round. Radwanska has gained some confidence after winning in the 2015 WTA Finals in Singapore. She became, even more, confident with her shots and improved the manner of her game. And psychologically, the Polish tennis player has become much stronger. Bouchard has not yet gained her optimal form. It seems to me that she will do that a little later on. Eugenie is now playing much better than last year, though. Well, one more thing to note is that Bouchard does not like to play against tennis players like Agnieszka Radwanska, that don’t set the pace. Radwanska plays, starting from her rivals’ tempo. Bouchard will find it uncomfortable. Moreover, Melbourne’s hot and sometimes windy. It will be very difficult for Bouchard to play her game in these conditions. I suppose that Agnieszka will win in two sets. Even though, it’s not a good draw for her to get such an opponent in the second round.
