Real Madrid faced with do or die last two matches
It hasn’t been a good season for Real Madrid in the Euroleague. The Madridistas had so many ups and downs as they couldn’t have a stable level throughout the season losing 14 matches so far in the Euroleague 2020-2021 season.
This is the most number of losses that coach Pablo Laso’s team have suffered in a season in four years. Los Blancos have lost their last three home matches and having lost seven at the WiZir Center all season, coach Pablo needs to raise his team’s confidence going into this match.
Real Madrid are in danger of going out of the final eight playoffs if they lose one of their last two games and their close followers Zenit and Valencia win all their three games. With just 48% shooting, coach Pablo’s team are 12 in the Euroleague.
Olympiacos playing for a better record
Three-time Euroleague champions Olympiacos have not qualified to the final eight playoffs for the third season running. With a record of 14 wins and 17 losses, the Greek side haven’t had a good Euroleague season.
Coach Georgios Bartzokas’s team had a seven-match losing streak from late January to early March this year, which was enough to see the Greek side fall down the Euroleague standings and away from a playoff spot.
Olympiacos are one of the weaker teams when it comes to long-range shooting. They have only a 35% record from the three-point arc but are fifth in the Euroleague from the two-point range with 56%.
Key Stats
- Real Madrid have lost their last three home matches in the Euroleague
- Real Madrid have lost four of their last five matches
- Olympiacos have one win in their last five away matches in the Euroleague
- Olympiacos have three wins in their last four matches
Real Madrid vs Olympiacos Prediction
Real Madrid have no other choice than to win their next two matches at all costs if they want to stay at the eighth position to qualify for the playoffs. With the amount of experience coach Laso has in his squad one feels it shouldn’t be a difficult task for Los Blancos.
But with their recent results and especially at home, they have to improve defensively as they have conceded 108 and 96 points in their last two games, the most they let their opponents score all season.
