Carragher shared on Twitter players he believes should be on the squad for the 2022 World Cup.

The former Liverpool defender has despite stating Harry Maguire will be a gamble in the squad has gone on to name him among his predicted squad members for the England National Team ahead of 2022 World Cup.

With Reece James out on injury, Alexander-Arnold will make it into the squad according to Carragher despite fears over the right-back’s defensive flaws.

Southgate will provide his England squad list at 2pm on Thursday, 10th November 2022.

Stating on Twitter, Carragher said; “It’s not just about questionable fitness – it’s about form, too… with Harry Maguire it’s form and a lack of game time – one start in the league for Manchester United since August,” the Newcastle icon wrote in The Athletic.

“Maguire has barely been playing, while his performance in England’s 3-3 draw with Germany in the Nations League draw back in September hardly inspired confidence.

“Picking him in your starting XI would represent a huge gamble, but the problem is that Maguire is not an isolated example.”

Carragher’s England squad in full: Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale, Nick Pope; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Benjamin White, Kyle Walker, John Stones, Eric Dier, Harry Maguire, Conor Coady, Kieran Trippier, Luke Shaw; Declan Rice, Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, Kalvin Phillips, James Maddison, Mason Mount; Harry Kane, Tammy Abraham, Ivan Toney, Marcus Rashford, Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Jack Grealish.
