Prediction on Aston Villa vs Chelsea
It’s an all Premier league affair in this FA Cup fourth round replay, it’s Aston Villa vs Chelsea. Both teams are equally matched when it comes to recent head to head statistics, with three games won each in the last eight encounters. Aston Villa hold the edge though, seeing they have had the last two wins in this fixture, and seeing as they are an in-form team, they should win here
Recently head to head records between these two have a tendency to produce few goals, with none of their last four producing three goals, but if their last league games are anything to go by, we should expect at least three goals in this one.
Match Preview: Aston Villa vs Chelsea
Aston Villa are heading into this tie on the back of a fantastic away victory in the league, a five nil spanking of Sheffield United will be just the preparation Villains hoped for heading into this one. They will be looking to secure a third victory in four encounters against Chelsea (a second for the season) and along with it, progression to the fifth round of the FA Cup. Unai Emery’s side have shown little signs of slowing down, recovering from their defeat to Newcastle United with a heavy win over Sheffield United to make the fourth position on the Premier league log theirs with 46 points from 23 games.
Unlike their opponents, Chelsea are going into this tie nursing back to back defeats, first was a 4-1 spanking from Liverpool, followed by a painful 4-2 home defeat suffered against Wolverhampton. Two defeats in their last two sees them drop out of the top ten, as they occupy the 11th spot with 31 points from 23 games. The blues need consistency, and will do well to dust themselves up and try to pick up the pieces as they look to halt Aston Villa’s march.
Predicted Starting Lineups
Aston Villa: Martinez, Moreno, Lenglet, Diego-Carlos, Konsa, Kamara, Doughlas-Luiz, Tielemans, McGinn, Bailey, Watkins
Chelsea: Petrovic, Chilwell, Badiashile, Silva, Disasi, Fernandez, Caicedo, Sterling, Ghallagher, Madueke, Palmer
