Daniil Medvedev looking to settle qualification
Despite losing the first set in a tiebreak, Daniil Medvedev regrouped and went on to win his opening match against Hubert Hurkacz. Surely, the Russian’s composure and experience in crucial matches proved to be decisive as he won the second and third sets. Notably, winning 83% of his first serve points and 100% of them in the third set is Medvedev’s strong point.
Now playing Zverev in his second match, the World number two Medvedev prefers to settle his qualification to the semi-final. Surely the reigning ATP Tour Finals reigning champion is one of the main candidates to maintain his title. However, he needs to maintain his form of the third set against Hurkacz in which he had zero double faults.

Alexander Zverev to break his losing streak against Medvedev
Alexander Zverev had to fight hard to win the first set against Matteo Berrettini who retired due to injury. Markedly, It was a very close set with both players holding their serve until they played the tiebreak. To point out, Zverev served better with 72% and won on average the same number of points behind his first serve. Moreover, in the unforced error area, Zverev was much better than Berrettini with just nine to the Italian’s 23.
The 2018 winner of the ATP Tour Finals Zverev has to be at his best in his second match against Medvedev. Especially, considering the fact that Zverev was beaten in the last four h2h meetings. Incidentally, the latest defeat came just 2 weeks ago when Medvedev beat the world’s number 3 in Paris in a relatively easy match by 6-2 6-2.

Daniil Medvedev vs Alexander Zverev prediction
Deservingly, Medvedev and Zverev are the world number two and three respectively. Hence this will be a very tough match to predict the winner. Surely, both of them had a great season and will be the favorites to qualify for the semi-finals from this group.
Examining their recent h2h matches, two of them were won by Medvedev in straight sets. One of those matches was in last year’s ATP finals when Medvedev won in two sets. And the other two went to three sets also in favor of the Russian.
With very limited markets available for this match by the bookies, and the fact that Medvedev is the favorite to win with odds of 1.59, we will back the Russian to win. However, we will take the chance and predict over 2.5 sets for our second prediction.
