Romania v Albania: Thomas Giles’ betting tip
These two Eastern European sides were considered to be the weakest teams in Group A prior to Euro 2016, and this has been proved right with Romania and Albania occupying third and fourth respectively going into the final group game. However, thanks to the newly introduced rule that the four best third place finishers qualify, both of these teams have a chance of making it through to the last 16.
Romania of course are the stronger of the two sides and impressed many with their good display in their loss to France on matchday one. Out of these two former Communist states, Romania have the best chance of qualifying from Group A thanks to their draw against Switzerland in their last match.
I cannot see Albania getting through the group, even if they win this game, as victory would only put them on three points which is unlikely to be enough. Romania will know they have a good chance of qualifying with a win against Albania and, as they are undoubtedly the better team, you would have to back them at 5/4.
