Diogo Dalot names key reason why Newcastle beat Manchester United on Sunday

The Red Devils faced a 2 – 0 defeat to the Premier League rivals on Sunday. After playing a goalless draw in the first half, the Magpies managed to grab three points from the clash as Joe Willock and Callum Wilson scored the winning goals for their team.

After the clash, Dalot opened up on United’s loss amid the Premier League top-four race, claiming the opponents were more motivated to have a successful clash.

“I think they wanted that a little bit more than us today and that can not happen. If we want to fight for more, want to compete for the Premier League, we have to be more consistent, come here and dominate the game,” the defender said on MUTV.

After the game’s result, United are sitting in 4th place in the Premier League table with 50 points. Their next opponents will be Brentford on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
