Dennis Novak will play against Stefanos Tsitsipas in the first round of the Vienna Open. The match will start on October 26 at 14:30.
Bookmaker Ratings: Prediction #1 – Handicap (-5) for Tsitsipas – 1.82.
Bookmaker Ratings: Prediction #2 – Total Games Under 22 – 1.50.
It is likely that Novak will give a fight to the favourite. If that happens, it will not be easy for Tsitsipas. However, we don’t think that Stef will have a difficult match.
Tsitsipas is the big favourite and we don’t think Novak will be able to put up some resistance.
Novak received a wild card from the tournament organisers. Otherwise, he had no chance of qualifying for the main draw. He is 155th in the current rankings.
Earlier in October, Dennis played unsuccessfully in two Challengers in Germany. Neither of them saw him advance past the first round.
However, not long before that, Novak reached the final at the Challenger in Szczecin. He lost in the decider to Corentin Moutet (2-6, 7-6, 4-6).
His biggest achievement so far this season has been reaching the second round of Wimbledon, where he also overcame a tough qualification.
It is also worth noting that this season Novak has played only four matches at the ATP main draw level.
Novak has lost his last five meetings on the indoor hard courts.
Tsitsipas reached the final in Stockholm last week. However, the result was a complete disappointment for him.
In the deciding match, Stef lost to Holger Rune (4-6, 4-6). As at Roland Garros, Stef still did not see what he could do to stop Rune.
Tsitsipas has played in the final seven times this year but has only taken two titles. “I’m getting fed up with the finalist prizes. I get them again and again,” said Stef after losing to Rune.
Either way, there is no doubt that Tsitsipas has done well to prepare for the final part of the season.
Tsitsipas has won seven of his last ten matches against wild-card holders.
