Bookmaker Ratings: Prediction One – Handicap (+6.5) for Sinner – 1.89.
Bookmaker Ratings: Prediction Two – Total Games Over 34․5 – 1.88.
Jannik has passed all his opponents at Wimbledon with far too much confidence. He is approaching his encounter with Djokovic in great playing form. It is likely that Jannik will not lose by a big handicap.
Jannik Sinner played too well against Alcaraz. It is unlikely to be an easy match for Novak. If Jannik plays at his level, he will definitely resist Novak.
Djokovic reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon for the fifth time in a row. However, even that fact will pale in comparison with the fact that Novak has not lost at Wimbledon since 2017.
Last Sunday, Novak stopped Tim van Rijthoven (6-2, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2), who had previously taken the title in Hertogenbosch and confidently overcame three rounds at Wimbledon.
Tim was great in the first part of the match, taking the second set, but thereafter the court was dominated by Djokovic. Novak easily took the third and fourth sets.
Djokovic’s winning streak at Wimbledon already stands at 25 matches.
Djokovic has 8 wins in his last 10 matches at the quarter-final stage.
Sinner, meanwhile, had not had a single win on grass at the ATP level before the current tournament. However that, strangely enough, did not stop him from reaching the quarter-finals.
In the fourth round, Jannik scored a classy win over Carlos Alcaraz Garfia (6-1, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3).
Jannik took Carlos down in the first and second sets and dropped the third set on a tie-break. He failed to capitalise on several match points and was excellent again in the fourth set.
You have to admit that Alcaraz was almost powerless on the receiving end. Jannik played his serve magnificently.
Interestingly, this was only Sinner’s second win over a top-10 opponent at a Grand Slam tournament.
Sinner has six defeats in his last ten matches against top-10 opponents.
Djokovic has not had a tie-break in his last five matches. We offer to bet on “Tie-Break – No” with the odds of 2.00.
