The call-up of goalkeeper Fatau Dauda for Ghanaââ¬â¢s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius has sparked fury among local fans.
The 30-year-old has been called-up into the team despite his decline in form in recent times alongside Spain-based Razak Brimah and free agent Ernest Sowah.
His call-up into the team has sparked anger among local fans as it makes nonsense of the criteria mode into the national team.
Daudaââ¬â¢s plummeted form was highlighted during the Local Black Stars recent disastrous performance at the 2015 COSAFA Cup in South Africa.
He returned to Ashantigold after a torrid time at South African sides Orlando Pirates and Chippa United where he made just a single appearance at the latter.
He has lost his position to in-form Robert Dabuo and therefore comes as massive SHOCK after coach Avram Grant included him in his 23-man squad released for the Mauritius qualifier on June 14 in Accra.
Dauda is seen as a great ally of Black Stars goalkeepersââ¬â¢ trainer Nassam Yakubu and hugely suspected as the chief reason for his continuous call-up into the team.
There are questions hanging around the inclusion ofà Mpumalan ga Black Aces versatile player Edwin Gyimah as well as Razak Brimah, Ernest Sowah and David Accam.
