Black Stars team doctor, Adam Baba has urged star striker Asamoah Gyan to ‘listen to his body’ and not play for Chinese side Shanghai SIPG if he hasn’t recovered fully from his current hamstring injury.

The 29-year-old returned to play for the Chinese side in their final league game of the season last week after recovering from his latest set-back.

The Ghana international missed his country’s international friendly draw against Canada last month due to the injury.

And international team doctor, Baba Adam has urged the former Sunderland hitman to be cautious.

“On a more cautious side. I spoke to him (Gyan) and asked him to be very careful because he has just recovered and the club has been pushing him to play,” he told Starr FM

“He has assured me that he will come for the game (Comoros) but I told him not to be sure because it’s his body, it’s the same place, the hamstring.”

Gyan is expected to be available for his country’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Comoros this month.
