Karela United FC had woes deepen again as they threw away a one-goal lead to lose to AshantiGold SC on Sunday at the Akoon park in Tarkwa.

The Pride and Passion have now extended their winless streak to nine matches with the 2-1 defeat to the Miners.

The result also see AshantiGold end their three matches winless run.

There were three changes in the Karela United squad from their 0-0 draw with Dreams FC in the midweek.

Samuel Ofori, Nurudeen Abdulai and Kwame Boateng were dropped to the bench for Franklyn Osei, Kwadwo Addai and Abega Ofosu respectively.

Thomas Duah also made four alterations to the AshantiGold lineup as Robert Dabuo replaced Frank Boateng in the posts for his very first start of the season.

Mubarik Yussif returned from suspension to partner Samed Ibrahim in central defence.

David Abagna Sandan and Benjamin Eshun also came in for the places of Stephen Owusu Banahene and Benedict Damlen Wobenu.

Diawisie Taylor put the hosts ahead in the 65th minute through the spot after goalkeeper Dabuo brought him down inside the box.

The visitors with quick response three minutes later as Samed Ibrahim headed in the equaliser.

Substitute Wobenu gave the Miners the lead in the 70th minute.

Karela United's pressure in the last ten minutes failed to produce any goal as the Miners claim all three points to consolidate their 5th position on the log.
