Liberty Professionals captain George William Ansong was named Man of the Match on matchday one of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League campaign against Bechem United.
Liberty were held to a 1-1 draw at the Carl Reindorf Sports Stadium by Bechem United.
Bechem United kept their discipline and maintained a well defensive shield on a rainy Monday afternoon. But their resilience was broken by a George Ansong goal in the 20th-minute mark.
He latched onto a neatly delivered cross into the box to fire home the opener. Both teams began to sit back and play a cautious game but Liberty on a few occasions committed men forward in search of a second goal.
The home side lost steel in the second half and conceded 10 minutes after breakthrough Stephen Owusu. Owusu scored from the spot following a foul on Emmanuel Asante to bring the game level on the 55th minute.
Liberty travels away to play Elmina Sharks at the Nduom Sports Stadium on matchday two.
