2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Week 13 Match Preview - AshantiGold vs. Liberty Professionals

Published on: 06 February 2021

AshantiGold SC have gone four matches without a win and were 2-1 losers to Ebusua Dwarfs at the Cape Coast Stadium in the midweek as they continue to drop on the league standings.

They look to get back to winning ways on Sunday at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi when Liberty Professionals come visiting.

The Miners also have no victories in back-to-back home games in the premiership having drawn with Medeama SC a fortnight ago and Asante Kotoko last weekend.

Even though AshantiGold are the highest scoring side in the Ghana Premier League this term, they have failed to score in the last two home fixtures.

Despite the recent drop in form, Milovan Cirkovic and his men remain undefeated at home this campaign and will take advantage of that to overcome Liberty.

Kwadwo Amoako is suspended for Sunday's fixture after being sent off in the midweek against Dwarfs.

Appiah McCarthy remains unavailable with an injury which is keeping him out for almost two months.

Liberty are really enduring a very tough season as they found themselves in the relegation zone and have gone five games on the bounce with no single win.

Their last win in the Ghana Premier League came about on 3 January 2021 when they beat Legon Cities FC 1-0 in Dansoman.

The Scientific Soccer Lads have picked just two points on the road this season having lost four out of the six away matches.

Liberty have conceded 11 goals in the last three away fixtures scoring only once.

They were handed an embarrassing 5-0 defeat in their last away match in Sogakope to WAFA SC last weekend.

In the midweek, Aduana Stars held them to a scoreless stalemate at the Carl Reindorf Park.

David Ocloo's men are two points away from the safety places on the premiership standings and a win on Sunday will see them out of the danger zone.
