2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Week 20 Match Preview - Berekum Chelsea vs Ebusua Dwarfs

Published on: 18 April 2021

Berekum Chelsea and Ebusua Dwarfs meet at the Golden City on Sunday with both teams hoping for a win to improve their standings on the Ghana Premier League table.

After 19 games, the two teams have won 24 points each. But Dwarfs due to their superior goal difference are ahead of Chelsea. Dwarfs lie 12th while Chelsea find themselves in the 13th position.

When they met earlier this season at the Cape Coast stadium, Dwarfs won thanks to a 21st-minute strike by forward Martin Tsiboah.

But the outcome for Sunday's encounter could be different. Taking the last five games into consideration, Chelsea are the in-form side as they have won seven points. Dwarfs, in comparison, have secured five points.

Also, the Blues are a different side when they play at home. Chelsea limit their opponents to sit deep as they dominate possession and create a lot of chances.

It is the reason they are unbeaten at home this season. Their home record of 22 points from 10 games is bettered by Karela United and Bechem United – two teams who are in the top half of the table. This statistic shows Chelsea could have been challenging for the title if they played without fear away from home.

Chelsea’s home form gives them the upper hand, but Dwarfs cannot be underestimated. The Crabs have been surprisingly good on their travels, with 12 points – only first-placed Kotoko (18) and second-placed Great Olympics (13) have won more points away from home than Dwarfs this season.

The match will kick-off at 3 pm.

Prediction: Berekum Chelsea 1-0 Ebusua Dwarfs.
