Elmina Sharks defeated Eleven Wonders 2-0 at home on Wednesday, snapping a five-game winless streak in the Ghana Premier League.
Sharks, who are at the bottom of the table, put on an outstanding performance in Elmina to defeat their relegation rivals Wonders.
Their strong start was rewarded in the 22nd minute as midfielder Francis Oteng scored.
Wonders improved after that and threatened the Sharks' defence a few times.
Tahir Mensah's second goal 13 minutes after halftime put the game beyond the reach of the Wonders.
It is their first victory since a 2-1 victory against league leaders Asante Kotoko on February 7.
Thanks to the win, Sharks are seven points away from safety with many games to go.
Wonders, on the other hand, are only one point behind safe haven.
