2021 AFCON: Four Morocco players test positive for COVID-19 ahead of Ghana match

Morocco national team have been hit by COVID-19 after four players test positive ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations opener against Ghana on Monday.

The Black Stars will take on the Atlas Lions at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde in their Group C opening match.

During the pre-match press conference on Sunday, head coach Vahid Halilhodzic hinted four players have been effected by the deadly virus.

Strikers Ryan Mmaee, Youssef En-Nesyri Ayoub El Kaabi tested positive as well as midfielder Aymen Barkok and are likely to miss Monday's crucial encounter.

The other group match in Group C will be between Gabon and debutants Comoros at the same venue on Monday.
