2022 World Cup playoffs: Aduana Stars striker Bright Adjei disappointed he wasn't included in Ghana squad

Aduana Stars striker Bright Adjei says he was disappointed not to be called up for Ghana's 2022 World Cup playoff clash against Nigeria.

Adjei was in fine form ahead of the clash, scoring 12 goals in the Ghana Premier League, but he was not invited by Black Stars coach Otto Addo.

Jordan Ayew, Felix Afena-Gyan, Kwasi Wriedt, and Christopher Antwi-Adjei were the strikers called up by Addo and they helped the Black Stars qualify for Qatar.

“Personally, I was disappointed (Not to earn call-up) because I was doing well in the League, I was very much prepared and for me to miss out of the squad was a bit disappointing,” he said on Wontumi TV

“But all the same there were equally good players who got selected and went out to do a good job.

“There are AFCON qualifiers coming up and I need to keep working hard so I can get a call-up.”

The attacker is still in contention for the top scorer award, but he will have to beat out Kotoko's Frank Mbella, who currently leads the goalscorers table with 17 goals.
