Arsenal's France midfielder Abou Diaby has blamed Michael Essien for his injury that will keep him out of action for France when they play Romania on Saturday in Euro 2012 qualifier.

The lanky combative midfielder sat of out Les Blues training on Wednesday due to an injury suffered in the weekend's London derby clash with Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Frenchman explained how he twisted his ankle after a strong tackle from Chelsea’s Michael Essien.

"My injury was a strong tackle from Essien and I twisted my ankle, but it is part of the game," Diaby said.

"I did not train and spent time with doctors. Hopefully I can make it but we will not take a risk."

The 24-year old is likely to return to action for France against Luxembourg.
