Italian giants AC Milan will not renew the contract of their controversial Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng when it expires at the end of the season, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

His disappointing second spell with the Serie A giants has led to the decision by the board and coach of the club not to hand him a new contract.

Insiders have told Ghana's leading football news outfit that coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has informed leaders of the club that he is not interested in the German-born player for next season.

Boateng returned to AC Milan in January as a free agent after cancelling his contract with German side Schalke under controversial circumstances.

The midfielder has failed to live up to expectations, playing just 256 minutes in 10 matches and scoring one goal against Fiorentina.

With just nine matches left in the Serie A and the Coppa Italia final to be played, Boateng will not fall into plans plans for next term.

With supporters and club expecting more from him, Boateng's performance has come as a negative surprise for everybody.

Mihajlovic  has repeated himself many times saying that the player is not fit to play a whole game and patient seems to have come to an end.
