AC Milan midfielder happy to remain at the club

Japan international Keisuke Honda has never asked for a move away from AC Milan, says club vice-president Adriano Galliani.

The playmaker has been an integral part of the Rossoneri squad since joining from CSKA Moscow back in 2014, making in excess of 60 league appearances since and netting a return of eight goals.

“This isn’t even the right time to talk about Honda’s contract,” Galliani told Nippon Sports.

“There is no reason to rush a decision that we can take in our stride,” he continued.

“Honda has never asked to leave Milan, he likes it here I can guarantee.”

Out of the whole squad, only three players have featured more often than Honda this term as he continues to be an influence at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

However, his goalscoring prowess has decreased during this campaign and he’s only scored once so far.

On the support side of things, Honda has assisted three Serie A goals this season.
