AFC condolences on passing of Dato’ Goh Ah Chai

Kuala Lumpur: AFC President Shaikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa has offered his most heartfelt condolences on the passing of AFC Referees Committee Member Dato’ Goh Ah Chai of Malaysia who died on Thursday at the age of 70.

Chairman of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Referees Committee and Member of the FAM Executive Committee, Dato' Goh was also a founding member of the Federal Territory FA in 1974.

Since the 1980s, Dato’ Goh served the FAM in various roles, including in the finance committee, gates and ticketing committee as well as the competitions committee. In 2014, he was re-elected to the FAM Executive committee. 

From 1981 to 1985, Dato’ Goh was the assistant manager for the national team, before serving as Kuala Lumpur FA General Secretary from 2000 to 2007. 

He is survived by wife Datin Loke Swee Yee, two sons and a daughter. 

Dato’ Goh will be remembered for his services and contribution to Asian and Malaysian football. 

The thoughts and prayers of the AFC and the rest of the Asian football community are with the family and friends of Dato’ Goh.
