Ghana defender Harrison Affulââ¬â¢s goal has claimed this yearââ¬â¢s Africa Champions League for Tunisian side Esperance as they beat Wydad Casablanca 1-0 to win Africa's biggest club title.
The 25-year-old left-backââ¬â¢s 22ndà minute strike on Saturday evening was all that was required as the Tunisian club triumphed 1-0 on aggregate after playing out a 0-0 game in the first leg with Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca.
Afful's strike came in the 21st minute of the game - the Ghanaian broke down the right hand side, cut infield and fired a powerful shot past Wydad's young keeper Yassine Bounou.
The Ghana international thus helps his club bury last seasonââ¬â¢s continental final heartache where they were blown away by DR Congoââ¬â¢s TP Mazembe in a staggering 6-1 aggregate scoreline.
Esperance claims the prize money of $1.5 million andà will represent Africa at the Club World Cup in Japan which takes place next month.
