Agent of Daniel Nii Adjei, Augustine Konadu insists his client will not sign a contract extension with Asante Kotoko until the outstanding debt owed the player is cleared.

Last season's Premier League Best Player had been a major transfer subject in the off-season with a reported few months left on his existing deal with the Champions.

However contrary to reports the midfielder is in talks with Kotoko officials over a contract extension, the player agent says no negotiations will take place until some monies owed the player is honoured by the club.

"We have decided that until outstanding debts owed my player (Daniel Nii Adjei) is sorted there will be no negotiations," Konadu told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

"You cannot sign a new contract with a club when there are outstanding debts owed you and that is our stand.

"We are not saying the player won't sign with Kotoko but we merely want what is due the player given him."

Konadu hinted several alternative options available to the player in the event the standoff with Kotoko prevails.

"There are several teams interested, so many of them in Ghana and even a team from Turkey have called to inquire about his (Adjei) services."
