Al Ittihad Jeddah midfielder Sulley Muntari is set for a two-week spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury he sustained last week.

Muntari was replaced after 56 minutes in their 2-1 home defeat to Al Nasr in the Asian Champions League.

The 31-year-old is currently in Milan to see a specialist on his knee to speed up his recovery.

“Muntari is currently in Milan to see an expert on his injury,” a source told Goal.com

“It initially didn't look serious but the club doesn't want to take any chances hence the decision to allow him to travel.

“He will also use the opportunity to spend time with his family in Milan since the wife gave birth not too long ago. It's important to be with her and the newborn, but he's expected back very soon to start his recovery training."
