Orange County Soccer Club have announced the signing of Ghanaian defender Kontor Owusu-Ansah.

The 24-year-old joins after leaving Greek Super League side AEL Larissa.

The former Asante Kotoko defender spent six seasons in the Serbian SuperLiga where he featured for Metalac Gornji Milanovac and FK Novi Pazar.

“I’m very excited to have added an exceptional young talent like Kontor. He comes with a great deal of experience having played against teams such as Olympiakos and Panathinaikos in this past year,” said Orange County SC Head Coach Braeden Cloutier.

“Kontor is an extremely athletic player with great technical ability. He will be an exciting player for the Orange County fans this season.”

Kontoh made 85 appearances for Metalac GM before joining  FK Novi Pazar in 2015.

In July 2016, Kontor signed with AEL (Larisa F.C.) of the Greek Super League and went on to make 19 appearances in Greece’s top division, competing against some of the best teams in Europe.
