Anderson: I want to help Lazio

Published on: 18 December 2015

Felipe Anderson has vowed to help his side as they continue to labour in Serie A, beginning with their trip to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to face pace-setters Inter on Sunday evening.

The Brazilian has struggled to replicate the form of last term, having last netted in Lazio’s 3-0 rout of Torino in October.

“We expected a win after a long time and it arrived,” said Anderson when quizzed after his side’s 2-1 success over Udinese in the Coppa Italia.

“We are a team who like to dominate the ball, so we kept calm and handled the game well.

“We now have more confidence to go on and win in the league.

“It is important to work as a team.”

The Biancocelesti have not tasted victory in Serie A since that aforementioned home win over Torino, with the side jeered off on Monday evening after the hosts contrived to concede a last minute equaliser against a Sampdoria side in disarray.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s night concluding fixture ahead of the winter hiatus in Italy, Anderson said: “Last year was an unforgettable season, but the past is the past and we must all take a step forward and work to do better.”

“I understand the fans want to see a good game. We know this because they whistle and because they want victories, and the same applies to us.

“We have to stay calm,” concluded the winger.
