Apoel Nicosia to rescue goalkeeper Richard Kingson

Cypriot giants Apoel Nicosia are ready to offer Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson a contract, MTNFootball.com understands.

Talks between his agent and the Nicosia-based outfit are said to be at an advanced stage.

The 34-year-old has been without a club since being released by Blackpool in May last year.

The former Ghana first choice glovesman has been training with the reserve side of Wigan Athletic to stay fit.

Kingson's wealth of experience includes spell with Galatasaray, Ankaragucu, Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic.

He was Ghana's shot-stopper at the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cup finals.
