Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has cautioned his defence to be extra careful with Sunderlandââ¬â¢s newly acquired Ghanaian center-forward Asamoah Gyan.
Gyan scored a classic goal on his debut for Sunderland after coming on as a second-half substitute for Danny Welbeck in their one-all draw with Wigan Athletics at the DW Stadium.
Sunderland host Wengerââ¬â¢s Arsenal at the Stadium of Light in Saturdayââ¬â¢s early kickoff and the Frenchman told Arsenal.com the Ghanaian could help the Black Cats repeat the fate suffered last season.
ââ¬ÅI looked at him especially during the World Cup,â⬠said Wenger.
I didn't know him too well. He had spells at Rennes last year where he didn't play and other periods where he was absolutely outstanding.ââ¬
ââ¬ÅWhen I saw him at the World Cup I found him extremely interesting and a good player but at the time we already had our strikers so I was not looking for him."
