Midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has hailed Juventusââ¬â¢ ââ¬Ëteamââ¬â¢s spiritââ¬â¢ in their 4-2 win over Napoli to clinch the 2012 Italian Super Cup on Saturday.
The Ghana internationalââ¬â¢s superb volley in the 37th minute helped the Old Lady come from behind twice to win the game played in Beijing in extra time.
And the 23-year-old who arrived from Udinese just this summer recognizes the immense team spirit of his new side.
ââ¬ÅWe played a very difficult game, as Napoli are a side to be respected and not a ââ¬Ënormalââ¬â¢ team,â⬠he said after the game.
ââ¬ÅWe didnââ¬â¢t give up in the first half when trailing 2-1, fought back and then scored twice in extra time.
ââ¬ÅThis showed the team spirit. The first day I arrived at this side, the Coach said everyone helps each other and we cannot giveà up.ââ¬
Asamoah who lasted the full 90 minutes appears to have landed a spot in Juventusââ¬â¢ star-studded midfield alongside Andrea Pirlo, Claudio Marchisio, Arturo Vidal and Stephan Lichtsteiner.
