Midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has hailed Juventus’ ‘team’s spirit’ in their 4-2 win over Napoli to clinch the 2012 Italian Super Cup on Saturday.

The Ghana international’s superb volley in the 37th minute helped the Old Lady come from behind twice to win the game played in Beijing in extra time.

And the 23-year-old who arrived from Udinese just this summer recognizes the immense team spirit of his new side.

“We played a very difficult game, as Napoli are a side to be respected and not a ‘normal’ team,” he said after the game.

“We didn’t give up in the first half when trailing 2-1, fought back and then scored twice in extra time.

“This showed the team spirit. The first day I arrived at this side, the Coach said everyone helps each other and we cannot give up.”

Asamoah who lasted the full 90 minutes appears to have landed a spot in Juventus’ star-studded midfield alongside Andrea Pirlo, Claudio Marchisio, Arturo Vidal and Stephan Lichtsteiner.
