Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have initiated contact with Medeama SC over the signing of Samuel Appiah and Richard Boadu in the ongoing transfer market.

Asante Kotoko are seeking to augment the right-back options as Christopher Nettey and Augustine Sefah are the only two recognised players for the role.

According to reports on Pure FM, Maxwell Konadu's men have identified Medeama SC right-back Samuel Appiah as the player to provide competition for the two aforementioned players.

Asante Kotoko are said to have also enquired about the availability of midfielder Richard Boadu.

New Chief Executive Officer of the club, Nana Yaw Amponsah, is reported to be pushing for the two deals as he worked with the duo during his time at lower-tier side Phar Rangers.

The Porcupine Warriors are light in midfield following the departure of Justice Blay, whose loan deal with club expired last season.

The defensive enforcer has returned to Medeama SC after Asante Kotoko failed to meet his asking price.

Asante Kotoko will be representing the West African giants at next season's CAF Champions League hence the need to bolster their team.
