Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have sent a message of condolence to their former attacker Charles Taylor following the death of his mother.

Taylor's mother died on Saturday at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi after battling illness.

The Porcupine Warriors stated on social media that they were saddened to hear of Taylor's mother death, and offered their condolences to him and his family.

“We are saddened by the passing of the beloved mother of our former player, Charles Taylor”.

The Kumasi-based club continues by extending their condolence to the ex-Ghana international who is held in high esteem for his display of quality during his playing days.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to our brother, his family, and everyone affected by the loss”, the Kotoko post added.

Taylor spent two years at Kotoko after joining from fierce rivals Hearts of Oak in 2003.

He had won six titles with the Capital-based club including the 2000 Caf Champions League before leaving.

Taylor scored but it was enough as Kotoko were beaten on penalties by Hearts in the 2005 Caf Confederation Cup final.
