Asante Kotoko SC, Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies FC move up in latest African Football Digital Benchmark rankings

Ghana Premier League trio Asante Kotoko SC, Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies FC have all moved up on the African Football Digital Benchmark rankings for the month of August 2020.

The rankings are done every three months with last one done in April 2020.

The three clubs are the only Ghanaian sides to appear in the Top 100 ranked football clubs in Africa with growing numbers in the digital community.

The rankings were done based on the followers, likes and subscribers to the club's Facebook, Twitter, Periscope, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube channels.

Asante Kotoko sit at the 25th position with a total of 480,000 followers from all the digital platforms and that's an improvement from the previous rankings.

The Porcupine Warriors were 27th in the April rankings with 402,000 followers.

Hearts of Oak have moved up one place from 28th to the 27th place on the continent with a total of 465,000 followership on all digital communities.

Inter Allies FC, even though less fancied in Africa also jumped from 66th to 65th with 19 more followers taking them from 100,000 to 119,000 followers on all platforms.

Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC and Zamalek SC remain the top two clubs in Africa followed by Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates in that order.

The rankings were done by Digital Sports Africa, a subsidiary of Result Sports in Germany.
