Chief Executive of AshantiGold Kudjoe Fianoo believes newly appointed Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah will excel in his new role.

The 51-year-old has sealed a two-year renewable mandate to guide the West African giant to win next year’s African Cup of Nations and reach the semi-finals of the World Cup in Brazil in 2014.

Many believe his excellent human relationship with the players will prove the catalyst for his successful reign and the experienced football administrator insists he has the ability to win laurels with the National team.

“I know Kwesi very and I have no doubt in my mind that he will be a huge success. He soft-spoken and quite by nature,” Fianoo said

“But don’t take him for granted because he’s very tough person who has the ability to bring the best out of the players to do well.

“What he needs is our collective support as a nation and stop backbiting. The culture of pulling him syndrome must cease since that is the only way for him to succeed,”

Appiah will face the Ghanaian media on Tuesday as he will be unveiled.
