AshantiGold SC are set to swoop for free agent Maxwell Baakoh for their CAF Confederation Cup and upcoming Ghana league season.

Baakoh couldn't register for Asante Kotoko SC for the 2020/2021 after rejecting a contract extension.

His contract with Porcupine Warriors expired about a week ago.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands AshantiGold are in advanced negotiations with the highly-rated winger.

The 25-year-old will join the Miners on a short-term contract with an option to extend.

Baakoh joined Asante Kotoko in November 2018 from Karela United FC.

He played a vital role when they reached the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup having scored twice in 7 matches.

Baakoh was an instrumental member of the Wa All Stars team that won the Ghana Premier League in 2016.
