AshantiGold SC coach Thomas Duah has indicated that his outfit are yet to finalize a deal with Yahaya Mohammed.

The Miners are locked in negotiations with Aduana Stars over the signing of striker Yahaya Mohammed.

The Len-Clay Stadium outfit were thought to have concluded the deal after the player took to social media to say goodbye to the people of Dormaa Ahenkro a fortnight ago.

However, coach Duah says the transfer is yet to be concluded though discussion with Aduana Stars and the player is going on well.

"We all know the exploits of Yahaya Mohammed in Ghana football but we haven't concluded the deal yet. Talks are going on smoothly,” he said on Light FM.

AshantiGold will represent Ghana in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

Several portals are reporting that the Obuasi-based side will not compete in the tournament as they’re not fully prepared.

But coach Duah has dismissed the claims, saying that his men are in camp waiting for approval from the government to commence training as there is a ban on social gathering due to the coronavirus crisis.

"We are camping and waiting for the approval from the government and FA to begin training towards our Africa campaign. All the players have been thoroughly tested."
