AshantiGold head coach Zdravko Lugarosic has set an audacious target of ending the club's 16-year wait for a Premier League title this term.

The Croat is keen to go a step further this term after helping the Miners clinch a second place finish last season despite joining them in the second round.

The former King Faisal coach faces stiff opposition from mega-spenders Berekum Chelsea and Medeama Sporting Club.

But the 48-year-old Uefa License coach remains hopeful he has enough quality to win the league for the first time since the 1996.

"I think we'll win the league next season because I have absolute trust in the ability of the players to deliver," Lugarosic said.

"When I took charge of the team last season, we really played some great football and we hope to build on it and finally clinch the title.

"It's been long time since the club won the league and I think next season, that will change."

Lugarosic joined the Obuasi-based in January but has since signed a two-year contract extension which will keep at the club till 2013.
