AshGold have missed out on defender Joseph Attamah

Ghana Premier League side AshGold SC have missed out on signing Ghana U20 defender Josepth Attamah as the 19-year-old is set to join a Turkish second-tier side.

The Miners earmarked the center-back after his impressive showing for Ghana at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup but Tema Youth who own the defender have preferred to sell him to a foreign-based side.

Turkish Lig. 1 sides Fethiyespor and Adana Demirspor have both expressed interest in him.

Attamah and Tema Youth Sporting Director Wilfried Osei Palmer left Accra for Turkey for contractual talks with either  Fethiyespor or Adana Demirspor.

AshGold coach Bashir Hayford was delighted with Attamah's partnership with Lawrence Lartey during the U20 World Cup and asked AshGold officials to bring in the defender.

But Tema Youth who want to raise funds for the upcoming Division One League campaign have decided to sell Attamah to the Turkish side.
