AshantiGold striker Yakubu Mohammed will arrive in South Africa early next week to begin his new career at Orlando Pirates, Ghanasoccernet.com can confirm.

The 23-year-old completed medicals with the Buccaneers last week and has been handed jersey number 40.

But he returned to Ghana to rejoin the CHAN squad for the qualifier against Benin which has been called off.

Ghana CHAN coach Dauda Lutterodt requested for the availability of the powerful center-forward who bagged 14 Premier League goals last term.

However, after the Local Squirrels withdrew from the 2014 qualifiers all 26 players at Prampram have been released and the striker will fly out to Johannesburg to join his new team-mates after playing his last game for AshGold against Kotoko in the Coronation game on Sunday.

Yakubu joins Ghana first choice goalkeeper Fatau Dauda who also signed a three-year-contract with the club last month.
