AshantiGold versatile defender, Tijani Joshua has expressed satisfaction at his side’s performance despite failing to pick the three maximum points against Berekum Chelsea in the opening Group B fixture of the G6 tourney.

The reigning Ghana Premier League champions AshantiGold were held to a goalless draw game by Berekum Chelsea as they were given a real test in preparations for their next month’s CAF Champions League preliminary stage against MO Bajaia from Algeria.

On the day, the Miners tried some new recruits like, Dauda Mohammed, Hudu Yakubu, Isaac Amoah and Fuseini Nuhu but they failed to hit the back of the net as they had to settle for a scoreless draw game against their counterparts.

Despite the scoreline, the Miner's defender Tijani Joshua has expressed happiness regarding his side’s performance.

“Our performance was very good but the only thing was that we failed to convert our chances. But it is all part of our Africa preparations so we have another match in the competition ahead of us. We will prepare very well for that game,” Tijani said after the game.

He added: “I’m not discouraged regarding the scoreline because we have another match to play. I’m optimistic that we will top our Group (B). What I want to tell AshantiGold fans is that they should have trust in the team, support the team with prayers and we will win our next match.”

Ashanti Gold next game is against Asante Kotoko on Saturday.
