According to Mundo Deportivo, Atletico Madrid are looking to sign Getafe FC midfielder Mauro Arambarri to replace Thomas Partey whose departure from the Los Rojiblancos looks imminent.
Diego Simeone thinks that Arambarri can fill the void that would be created by Partey’s exit from the club.
The Uruguayan international is a similar type and has been an important player for Getafe since joining them from CA Boston River in 2018.
Moreover, Arambarri is very intelligent and has excellent strength which he uses to outmuscle his opponents.
Arsenal are leading the race to sign Partey and are ready to pay the release clause to Atletico.
The Ghanaian international is being tracked by several clubs but he wants to play in the English Premier League.
The player has a release clause of €50 million and the English side are ready to pay the sum to acquire his services.
