Baba Rahman is struggling for regular action due to Chelsea's poor form, says ex Ghana captain CK Akunnor
Rahman has endured a torrid time so far at Chelsea

Former Ghana captain CK Akunnor says Chelsea’s wobbly form is one of the reasons why Baba Abdul Rahman is not getting regular playing time at the club.

The 21-year-old has made just two Premier League appearances for the Blues despite arriving as an expensive buy from German club Augsburg in the summer.

Rahman who is a full-fledged international with Ghana continues to struggle for first team opportunities as he has now been reduced to a bench-warmer at Stamford Bridge.

But CK Akunnor who is now the coach of Baba Rahman’s youth club Dreams FC admits the shabby form of Chelsea makes it difficult for under-pressure Jose Mourinho to pick the left-back.

“Chelsea are suffering as at now and probably don’t want to take any risks by playing him,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“I am sure when things stabilize at the club his chance will eventually come.”

Chelsea have won just once of their last eight matches in all competitions and are currently 15th with 11 points from 11 games in the Premier League.
