Ghana defender Baba Rahman was part of the Chelsea players who gave skipper John Terry a signed shirt to mark  his 700th  appearance for the club.

Signed shirts are usually the domain of matchday sponsors but now John Terry is the proud owner of an autographed Chelsea replica.

The Blues captain was presented with the souvenir by the rest of the Stamford Bridge squad to commemorate his 700th appearance for the club - the 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Only two other players have pulled on Chelsea's colours on more occasions than the ex-England skipper, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season having not been offered a new contract in west London, and his team-mates evidently hold Terry in high regard.

'Congratulations on 100 games. Amazing achievement. Top player, top man,' wrote his defensive colleague Gary Cahill.

Full back Branislav Ivanovic chipped in with 'one and only', while Pedro wrote 'congratulations, you are the best'.

Other signatories include Cesc Fabregas, Thibault Courtois, Kurt Zouma, Baba Rahman, Alexandre Pato and Oscar.

Terry told Chelsea's official website that he felt honoured to have reached the 700 club, where he sits in elite company alongside Peter Bonetti and Ron Harris.

JOHN TERRY: CAREER HONOURS

Champions League x 1 (2012)

Europa League x 1 (2013)

Premier League x 4 (2005, 2006, 2010, 2015)

FA Cup x 5 (2000, 2007, 2010, 2009, 2012)

League Cup x 3 (2005, 2007, 2015)

Community Shield x 2 (2005, 2009)

He said: 'To be up there with Ron Harris and Peter Bonetti is incredible.

'I looked at them years and years ago and thought wow, unbelievable. They are two Chelsea legends who have played so many games at the top. Incredible.

'Now I'm up there and it's something I am really proud of.

'I'm hoping my record will never be beaten, in a good way.

'I think it's a rarity now, you don't get too many players coming through and staying at one club. I'm delighted with what I've achieved and I'm hoping to make that 701, 702 and still go as far as I can go.'
