Hearts of Oak coach David Duncan says it is no ‘big deal’ big deal beating Asante Kotoko in response to his winless run against the Porcupine Warriors.

Duncan played out a second draw against the Ghana Premier League champions since his appointment as coach of the Phobians.

The former AshantiGold trainer was presented with a fine opportunity to get his first win against Kotoko on Sunday.

His side took a 27th minute lead through Winful Cobbinah and created several goalscoring opportunities in the entertaining game played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts however paid the ultimate price for their profligacy as Kotoko struck back through midfielder Michael Helegbe.

The draw leaves Duncan’s record against Kotoko in his time at Hearts at two games and two draws without a win.

But the former Free State Stars coach has moved to downplay the effect of beating Kotoko.

“I always go into a game with the intention of winning; it is my next opponent I always think about,” he said.

“If Kotoko is going to be my next opponent I am going to plan a strategy to beat them, if they are going to come tomorrow or next month it will be the same.

“It is no big deal at all when you beat Kotoko. Football is not like subjects, not like maths where you have definite answers.”

Hearts remain eight in the Ghanaian top flight and will face relegated Real Tamale United on Wednesday.
