Beckham continues to wait for Miami stadium venue

David Beckham's MLS franchise are still no closer to knowing where they will be playing when they finally enter the competition.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy star and his partners continue to search for a venue to house the new team which is expected to join the North American top flight ranks in 2017.

The Beckham franchise has already explored the idea of playing at a site at PortMiami as well as on land near the Miami Heat home court - American Airlines Arena.

More recently, the proposal for a stadium next to Marlins Park - home of MLB team Miami Marlins - in Little Havana was also unsuccessful according to the Miami Herald.

But Tim Leiweke, a partner of Miami Beckham United, was confident of soon confirming a home, telling CNBC: "I think we have found a site.

"It's probably different than what people think we're doing, but we're going to know in the next several days."
