Berekum Chelsea coach Hans Van Der Plyuim believes his team is ripe for Champions League glory but cautioned expectations must be managed.

The 2010 Ghana Premier League champions have won many admirers with their unique brand of football and their ruthless approach up front in just their maiden continental campaign.

Chelsea remain unbeaten after two rounds of games at the Group stage where they recorded an impressive 3-2 win over Egyptian giants Zamalek at the Accra Sports Stadium.

They also managed to redeem an unlikely point from Lubumbashi when losing 2-0 to TP Mazembe of DR Congo last Sunday.

Many now say the Berekum lads are good enough to clinch the trophy despite being early days yet – an assertion Chelsea’s Dutch trainer appears to be in agreement with.

“If you ask a coach or players, the dream is to win the cup of course but let us take it game-by-game.”

Chelsea are second in Group B with four points, two less than leaders Al Ahly who they next face in Cairo on August 4.
