Berekum Chelsea name strong line-up to face LISCR

Berekum Chelsea coach Hans Van der Plyum has named a familiar starting line-up against Liberia side LISCR in the CAF Champions League debut tie afternoon.

Goalkeeper Ernest Sowah, a member of Ghana's Nations Cup squad, has been picked to remain between the sticks.

Centre-back Nafiu Awudu who joined in the January transfer window has earned a starting place ahead of Ahmed Adams.

The former King Faisal player will partner Edward Kpodo at the heart of defence.

Newcomer Joseph Ato Bissah has also been handed his debut in the middle of the park.

The match will be played at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.

The match which is expected to attract a huge crowd at the stadium will mark the debut appearance of the visitors.

The return leg takes place at the Golden City Park, Berekum in two weeks.

The winner of the two-leg encounter goes on to meet Raja Casablanca of Morocco who have already drawn a bye.

The winner of this year's CAF Champions League earns a berth at the FIFA Club World Cup competition, a tournament contested between all the champion clubs from all six continental federations.
